I was reading an article about a guy that takes photos of cows and puts them in extreme situations. I folded the paper over and the next article started with a quote about the discovery of a treasure trove of anti-communist propaganda from the 50's that started with the words "Holy Cow!..". I thought to myself, "That's a weird but highly-probable and, by extension, easily explainable coincidence."
I looked up at the TV they have in the buses now and on the Spanish language news there was a woman being interviewed. I couldn't make out what she was saying but underneath her, was a video font giving her name as "Deborah Cowgill".
There would be two more instances of the word cow (one having to do with Harry Potter and the other having to do with a Pakistani Gov't official) on that screen over the course of the next three minutes.
My thoughts wandered for a moment and the smile on my face changed to one of grim determination as I forgot about incidences of synchronicity and began to think thoughts of the thing that has been bothering me the most, recently.
My heart started beating faster, my brain began racing and as my emotions crescendoed the bus's monitors, air-conditioner and engine went dead. The bus driver pressed the big button near his steering wheel and re-booted the whole damn thing.
But what does it mean? What does it mean?
These kinds of things don't bother me now, as much as they used to.
